Louise Linton Instagram – Sunshine is a baby goat born with a severe cleft palate.
This birth defect needs multiple surgeries by innovative surgeons to be repaired…the thing is- many hospitals that treat goats do not do these surgeries. Viva rescue has a surgeon and a program set up specifically for such extreme cases.
Sunshine was all the way in New York and the Viva sanctuary is in CA so when they needed to find a way to transport her, I offered to help. I never knew the first time I would change a diaper would be for a goat!
This morning sunshine got the first of many procedures as she got a tube placed surgically so the Viva team can feed her bypassing the cleft palate until she is strong enough for her series of reconstructive surgeries.
