It is August and the month of our Independence, and I came across Remnants of a Separation by @aanch_m and thought it was a perfect fit. It’s an absolutely fascinating concept – telling stories of the partition through the objects and heirlooms that refugees carried with them across the border. An insight into the courage and spirit it took to pack up and leave, an insight into their lives before told from a unique perspective. I’m looking forward to a journey full of nostalgia and I hope you join me on this journey too.

Anxious People by @backmansk is a poignant, charming novel about a crime that never took place and 8 extremely anxious strangers who are taken hostage and find that they have more in common than they thought. It’s a story about friendship, forgiveness and hope – the things that save us, even in the most anxious of times.
