It was said recently during an interview “I love to see these famous people pulling faces!” Whereas I see it slightly differently. If you consider many many many of the faces that sit in-front of my lens would have been photographed a zillion times, and in majority of occasions they would look ‘cool’, ‘magazine friendly’, ‘buffed and tweaked’. I try and let my sitters be themselves and let out their inner child. Its my version of primal screaming…and allowing the inner-self to become in-bodied not in an ear piercing yelp, but in playful contortions of their chops.
A bit of fun, hilarity, excited 5 year old at a wedding, squished faces. Being allowed to capture this precious vignettes of what makes someone human, and not the varnished façade we usually see is a total blessing for me.
Here, to illustrate said statement, is the fine figure of a gent #IainGlen. Currently Iain if probably known for his scaly character #JorahMormont in the phenomenon that was #GameOfThrones. I could, and probably am, wrong to say one of his first silver-screen outings was #GorillasInTheMist, but I think it was #LaraCroftTombRaider that was the big box-office smash. Personally I am a huge #Spooks fan and loved him as part of the MI6 massive. Lovely gentle guy who you should 100% high-five if you see him walking down your street!
(oh and Iain’s next roles range between #TheRig with powerhouse Martin Compston, Macbeth and Captain Hook!…..Hey diddly dee, an actors life for he!)
