Henny Russell Instagram – On August 15, 2015 I held my mama’s hand as she left this world for the next. My dad & sister were there, too. I can’t believe it’s been 6 years. She was such a wonderful mother and always a classy lady. She came to the US from Norway when she was 20, met & married my dad, and was SO proud to become an American citizen. She caught shade from my aunts for preparing special food for me, as I was an extremely picky eater as a child. I had to taste everything, but she told me that she would not like to be forced to eat food she didn’t like, so why would she do that to her precious child? She encouraged curiosity by always patiently answering my MANY questions, never saying, “Because I’m your mother.” She was kind and gentle and generous and caring, and I am SO grateful that she was my mother.
