Join Christy Turlington Burns (@cturlington) and other special guests of Too Young to Wed on Thursday, July 29th for a virtual event in which we will explore ways to support vulnerable girls, especially child mothers, as #COVID19 continues to upend countless lives.
The adverse effects of the #pandemic have profoundly disrupted the everyday lives of girls, causing the largest increase in #childmarriages in 25 years. In a special moderated panel session, we will discuss the urgent protection needs of girls in post- and prolonged COVID-19 contexts, with an emphasis on the intersection of child marriage and maternal mortality.
Additionally, we will launch the new Stephanie Freid-Perenchio Scholarship Fund (@sfpphotography), an initiative to bring long-term educational assistance to some of the most profoundly traumatized survivors served by TYTW.
