Mimi Cave Instagram – Two weeks ago in LA. no cops, no military, just 25,000 bodies with 25,000 loud, tired, passionate voices that won’t stop until justice is served and real changes are made. As a friend said ‘this is a marathon. find your pace and keep moving forward’. We have a long way to go but we MUST KEEP GOING. I am honored to stand with Black Lives 🖤. We have to be together in this and support black voices as we aim to dismantle this fucked up system. Small actions in large numbers, large actions in large numbers… all the ways, WE MUST KEEP GOING. I am learning more everyday and doing the work I must do to dismantle my own racist structures inside myself and surrounding me in my close relationships and my past. I must own my discomfort and sift through it in order to open and grow towards a better self and a better friend & neighbor to my black and brown brothers and sisters. It’s all of that and so much more we must do in order to change this country’s trajectory towards tolerance, unity and a celebration of diversity. WE MUST KEEP GOING. Black lives more than matter, they shine, they’re vital, they’re powerful… they’re human lives! If you have trouble seeing this movement in its continuation, I feel sorry for you. If you cannot look past your own ego to do some real work, then I don’t have time for you. But I am of the belief that we can all break these false barriers down, so if you need to talk, if you don’t know where to start, whatever… reach out to me and I will listen. I will do my best to help. It’s time we open up to discuss and stop shutting down, stop avoiding something ‘hard’ or ‘uncomfortable’. Is that how you want to live your life? In a bubble of complacency and lies? like, really? I am here to tell you that this movement is not stopping anytime soon. So figure your shit out and jump on in. We need you. Black lives are being killed! Beautiful black lives are being taken away from their families, their communities, and from this world.
