Parvathy Omanakuttan Instagram – When I thought of making myself a birthday cake I had to make something special. Since one of my favourite chocolates is Ferrero Rocher and I can eat quite a few in one sitting; I decided to make a big cake with all the elements of my fav chocolate in it. I love eating and I absolutely enjoy the process of making my food exactly the way I imagine it. Thank you Ella for inspiring me with your recipe @homecookingadventure. I tweaked it a bit with whatever ingredients I had access to. Although I have made one earlier for my nephew’s birthday I didn’t have the chance to enjoy it to the fullest, this one was to compensate for what I missed. Parvathy Omanakuttan Instagram – My recent trip to Assam was extra special because I got to eat the most Amazing Authentic Assamese food at the oldest and most sought after restaurant in Guwahati- @paradise_assamese_restaurant. Our lovely host @aarhi planned a great variety of the most loved dishes in the restaurant. We started off with a mouth watering shot of Paradise’s signature “Amlokhi” – Gooseberry soup with a bite of chilli and homemade roasted crackers (the recipe is a family secret), followed by “Koldil” – Banana Flower with native herbs cooked in a bamboo hollow; we then had Assam’s infamous “Bhutjalakia” with a twist of wings 😋, then came the show stealer “Kharisa” (Fermented Bamboo Shoot) rice with chicken smoked in Bamboo hollow (I still have the taste of the rice on my tongue 😛). And when we thought the array of food was done with, we got the Popular “Paradise Parampara Thali” (which specifically needs to be eaten anti clockwise) Starting with “Posola”( banana stem), “Khar” – appetiser , “Moong dal” , “Kaskol pitika” – Raw Banana Mash, “Koldil Bhaji” – Banana blossom stir fry, “Thekera Tenga (local kokum curry) and “Patot diya Pabda” (Local freshwater fish) steamed with “Lai Saak” (Local leafy vegetable) in banana leaf.
