Tomorrow is #WomensEqualityDay, which commemorates the ratification of the #19thamendment. While the 19th amendment gave some women the right to vote, it’s crucial to highlight that not all women were granted the same privilege. So, we’re re-sharing this oldie, but goodie to recognize the women of color who played a pivotal role in its passage. ⠀

Among other things, they founded women’s rights organizations, led marches, and spoke out through journalism—and their activism extended far beyond. For decades after the passage of the Amendment, these women continued to speak out about fundamental rights denied to their communities.
