May 2020 was when I first started to feel like I was heading into a dark place & making this dress was an attempt to pull myself out. With no money to spare I managed to find the cheapest 2 bolts of tulle & leftover satin I had lying around the house, followed a YouTube tutorial & made a dress. My mannequin was oversized, yet too short and wonky. After making this dress I saved EVERY spare penny I had to get myself a proper mannequin to finally start making garments that fit properly. I’m so proud of my journey and to think I only started learning to sew SPECIFICALLY for drag race, makes me even more proud. I’m a novice that was judged like sewing was my craft. I truly faked it until I made it! 💚
