Veronica Green Instagram – My Favourite things: Computer Games.
I’ve been a gamer most of my life. From the early days of the Amiga 500 then playing Ocarina of time on the N64 over and over again in the late 90’s. I owned a GameCube in uni and spent most of my time in the late 2000’s addicted to world of Warcraft and nowadays I spend my free time playing League of Legends.
This runway look was a repurposed season 2 runway look (day at the seaside) and the concept was centred around the fact that during my college years I lived in the seaside town of Blackpool. EVERY DAY I would go down to the arcade machines and play on the dance machines. I wanted to give a retro nostalgic feel to the look and a lot of people ask, why a snowsuit.
The answer is that it’s an in-joke that no matter what time of year it is, through rain or shine, the seaside is frickin’ freezing!
The original concept didn’t include the bedazzled N64 controller and had several other details that I removed, such as a roll of thousands of arcade tickets in the bumbag, a stuffed animal backpack, a bag of pennies and a cute claw machine accessory.
While not my favourite look ever, I still enjoy it.
