And until that goes away, we will never get to the end of diseases like HIV or COVID.” Last week, I had the honor of going on @cbsmornings with @darrencwalker of @fordfoundation to talk about something that means the world to me: Equitable access to healthcare across the world, particularly in my home country of South Africa. For 14 years my nonprofit @ctaop has supported community-based organizations in Southern Africa with the passionate belief that they know what’s best for their communities. This remains the same with COVID, and we’re seeing many patterns we’ve seen with HIV repeat themselves when it comes to unbalanced and inconsistent access to healthcare, and the constant battling of misinformation.
