I first met Alana over 15 years ago. I think it was the first day of high school when we were just 13. She quickly became one of my best friends and I fell in love with her.
She was cool, but humble. Smart, but slightly rebellious. Witty and popular, but including and non judgemental. Even at the age of 13. She was and still is an incredible woman.
And I like to think she fell in love with me too. So much so that she had to find the male version of me to marry š
I feel blessed in knowing that my role to play in your life Alana, was introducing you and my brother to the loves of their lives.
So that you could, in turn, create another love of our lives in Ayla.
I have been waiting a decade to share a last name with you and now I am truly able to call you my sister. Since you have felt like one for the majority of my life.
And to my brother, Beau, I am so proud to see the man you’ve become and how accomplished your life is.
You deserve the best, because you are the best and you’ve also found the best in your wife and daughter.
Your support, your caring nature, your weird sense of humour thats the same as mine makes me feel safe in knowing that whatever life throws at me, I know you’ve got my back. And I yours.
You are such a beautiful man, inside and out, and I feel so lucky to not only have you as an older brother, but as my friend.
So thank you, I love you both so much.
