Pegah Ghafoori Instagram – A promise to myself.
Recently I met a group of actors. People. Let’s call them my artist family. During the short three weeks that I saw them, I was moved like I’ve never been moved before. Every single one of them shed their perfect layers so honestly that their flaws shined like gemstones, and with that my whole truth was turned upside down.
That day I realized that I was surrounded by superheroes. Each one with the ability to make me surrender, and feel things unimaginable. Things most of us blocked out long ago. All for the sake of safety.
The day I met them I cried until the dam was broken, and all my flaws and insecurities flooded out. That same day I looked at the flood underneath my feet, and saw how much I have to work with. How much I have to offer. How much life I’ve lived.
I felt like a superhero.
I bought this ring as a promise to myself and to those I hope to touch with my artist. I promise to be messy. To be flawed. To be broken, and use every piece to create magic.
To the group I referred to before,
you know who you are.
You are superheroes.
You are stars.
Supernovas that dare to burn on.
