In my continued pursuit for Quality Education as a Sustainable Development Goal set out by the @unitednations - our journey over the last 3 months amidst several difficulties, a feeling of hopelessness, and worry for the future of our children, has at every step been tied together with a determination to come together, fight this uphill battle and take one step at a time to make the big bright future we know our children have a reality.

The pandemic pushed our children of school and into their homes, for over 1.5 years. The consequences of this, are grave and long-term, and require us ALL to collectively help rebuild for the future.

At this specific point in time, 10 million girls in India are at the risk of dropping out of school. Nisha has been our student voice in leading the change, and over these months of working with her I’ve had the opportunity to understand this challenging and unforeseen phase from her perspective, which has been eye opening. With the help of @change.orgindia we have been able to galvanise the support of several thousands, in our petition to make returning to school an absolute priority and #AllyUpForHer.

I’m so proud of how far we’ve come. We have an incredibly long way to go and together, this IS going to be possible. This 11th of October, on the International Day of The Girl Child, I will be convening with student voices, campaign leaders and advocates from across Asia to launch #GirlhoodUninterrupted
All details to follow. Can’t thank you all enough for all the support. @savethechildren_india #YouthAdvocateForEducation #SustainableDevelopmentGoals #ReturnToSchool #BuildForwardBetter
