Çağan Şekercioğlu Instagram – With a world population of only 250 to 999 birds, globally #Endangered Gray-bellied Comets (#Taphrolesbia griseiventris) are found only in an area of 28,000 km2 (~ the area of Massachusetts). With a long tail, glittering green back, and blue-purple throat, this elegant #hummingbird is #endemic to the #Andes of northern #Peru and is found in arid #mountain slopes and canyons with sparse vegetation, around 3000 m asl. I was very lucky and happy to photograph it. 1000 bireyden az dünya nüfusuyla küresel çapta soyu tehlikede bir sinekkuşu (kolibri) türü olan Gri Karınlı Peri (#Taphrolesbia griseiventris), sadece Peru’nun kuzeyindeki And Dağları’nın kurak kanyonlarında, deniz seviyesinden yaklaşık 3000 metre yükseklikte 28,000 km2 lik (Sivas kadar) bir alanda yaşar. Çağan Şekercioğlu Instagram – Discovered only 5 years ago and scientifically described 3 years ago, the #NearThreatened #CordilleraAzul #antbird (#Myrmoderus eowilsoni) #endemic to #Peru is the #first vertebrate to be named after the #myrmecologist (#ant expert), famous #conservationist and my college professor Prof. Edward O. Wilson, so I was thrilled to photograph this pair. First is the female and the second is the male. Wilson’un adı verilen ilk omurgalı hayvandır. O yüzden bu çifti fotoğraflarken çok heyecanlıydım.
