Jared Harris Instagram – We really hope everyone attending the @newportbeachfilmfest this weekend finds time to attend the screening of #CoogansWay, a wonderful documentary about the legendary @coogansnyc. This was not just some bar; it was the heart and soul of Washington Heights. I am forever grateful for Peter Walsh’s love and friendship, he helped set me on a solid path as a young actor in NYC. Everyone should have a friend like Peter, and a neighborhood place like Coogan’s to call “home.”

Synopsis: At the epicenter of America’s crack cocaine epidemic in the late 1980s and early 1990s, New York City’s Washington Heights neighborhood struggles with gang wars, street riots, and growing tensions. However, a small bar and restaurant proves to be a safe space, political hub, cultural center, and a home away from home for the community. Decades later during the rapidly changing NYC real estate market, the owners find themselves fighting for their beloved institution alongside their diverse and dynamic clientele.
