Chu Instagram - There was a great moment in 96,000 that didn’t make it into the movie where Graffiti Pete played by @noahlot_gotit and Sonny played by @gregdiaz4 are freestyling together while the goddesses of the pool sunbathe around them. It’s really adorable and so much fun to see these two boys go off but we had so much in 96,000 that we couldn’t find a place to slip it in 😭🤦🏻‍♂️

Jon M. Chu Instagram – The mannequin heads in the salon were NOT CG they were physically built and puppeteer’d. started with professional puppeteers then it became clear that they needed to be dancers to stay with the beat of the music so we got these two do it it :) apparently @tmoneymiceli and @iamemiliodosal had the unique combination of not just dancers but also gamers. Here’s a behind the scenes look at how crazy it looked. Also this was very complicated/expensive to make and I was only 50% sure this would ever make it into the movie because it was so absurd. But it worked! 😅 and these two may have found their calling. #InTheHeightsMovie You can Get the movie on iTunes right now with more BTS footage.
Jon M. Chu Instagram – We all worked out this moment SO MANY ways to unlock the best balance of movement, truth, camera and wonder. There’s nothing like an amazing collaboration of a lot of storytellers (actors, camera crew, choreography team, producers, production design team, VFX team, Costumes, hair, make up etc etc etc) to build a moment that seems so simple… and eventually (unbeknownst to us at the time) be on the poster….Oh and that we had Batgirl on set this whole time 🤯
