This is not a punchable face. This is a promo still from my first series regular job, a sitcom called Almost Perfect, starring Nancy Travis. In what was an obvious stretch for me, I played Rob Paley, a naive kid from the Midwest who struggles to navigate the fast pace of life as a tv writer in LA. That basically describes the last 25 years of my life. Not punchable, but I loved this cast and this show and having a job and I’ll never forget driving onto the Paramount lot every day for work. As a good friend once said to me “You really got hit with the lucky stick.” I could mutter something about hard work here, but why. The truth is I got slapped silly with the lucky stick (lotsa violent imagery today, someone must be feeling cooped up!) May we all be slapped so in this moment of uncertainty.
