I gaze upstream and what do I see?
It’s not what it was promised to be
There are plenty of fish in front of me
But what is to my left and who is right?
Where is my gut and why is it tight?
When downstream, why do we fight?
Every kingdom has its own king
Buying respect and selling dreams
Trading queens for figurines
But with a crown comes a noose
The king will drown unless it’s loose
Behold, the golden shackle of youth
