Trent Garrett Instagram – “A Letter to myself”
Convince me that tomorrow does not exist
So I may indulge into my true self and feast on what is
Convince me that the sun has only one shadow
This very night where the stars and I only share the stage
Convince me that this breath is as full as the moon
So we may simply gaze into a reflection of infinity
Convince me that work should not define my life
So I part from the swarm heading straight to artificial light
Convince me that I needn’t be attached to possessions
So they don’t attach to me and drown me in the shallows
Convince me that I don’t lack anything and have everything
So my eyes soften and lay rest for long winters ahead
Convince me that I do not know anything
So that I might only feel something of reverence
Convince me that nothing is impossible
So I might build my dreams like the pyramids
NOW… convince me that I need not convincing
Because I am who I am, perfectly designed for my purpose
