Chris Bath Instagram – So yesterday this happened & I finally got to say thank you for the amazing job she did 20 years ago. On September 11, 2001, I had gone to bed early, preparing for my ten month old nocturnal party animal to wake me up at least five times, when the phone rang. I picked up, half asleep, & my executive producer @sabra.lane 🙌🏻 from the Sunday political interview show I then worked on said: “Sorry to wake you. Get out of bed and turn on the TV” & hung up. So like thousands of Australians I sat horrified with tears rolling down my cheeks watching @shortblack_ & wondering what sort of world I was bringing our baby boy into. And there was Sandra, watching it unfold too, processing it with the same shock as the rest of us but working live on air delivering the news to us all with none of the resources that television production teams have today for rolling coverage. Knowing what she must’ve been facing at a purely professional level, in the horror of it all, I was in awe of what she was doing and remain so to this day. You were incredible that night Sul.
