Chris Bath Instagram – Trying to pluck up the courage to watch “The Newsreader” @abctv & wondering how accurate it might be. And then the husband arrives home with this – salvaged from the destruction of regional television news by metropolitan centralisation & “commercial reality”. I was lucky enough to work in regional TV in Albury and Newcastle. And I still believe that a vibrant local media is incredibly important to regional areas to tell local stories with local knowledge and local empathy. Those years in regional telly taught me many valuable lessons in front of a forgiving audience & I’ll always be grateful for it but….. here’s proof I worked too close to the last gasp of the ‘80’s.
