അച്ഛന്‍ മരിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു കത്ത്‌ വന്നു. ‘സങ്കടപ്പെടേണ്ട…ഇവിടെ ഒരച്ഛനും അമ്മയും എന്നുമുണ്ടാകും..’
വാത്സല്യം നിറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകളില്‍ നെടുമുടി വേണു എന്ന മനുഷ്യന്‍ മിന്നാമിനുങ്ങുപോലെ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അച്ഛന്‍വേഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നെഞ്ചില്‍ തൊടുന്ന, ഭംഗിയുള്ള പ്രകാശമുണ്ടാകുന്നത് എന്നറിയാന്‍ ഇപ്പോഴും ഞാന്‍ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കത്തിലെ വരികള്‍ മാത്രം മതി. ആ അച്ഛനാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ യാത്രപറഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നത്. ‘ദയ’യില്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ ബന്ധമായിരുന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടേത്. പിന്നെ ‘ഉദാഹരണം സുജാത’, ‘ജാക്ക് ആൻഡ് ജിൽ’, ഏറ്റവും ഒടുവില്‍ ‘മരയ്ക്കാറും’ . ഒരുമിച്ചഭിനയിച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ കുറവെങ്കിലും എന്നും വിളിപ്പുറത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. എവിടെയോ വായിച്ച ഓര്‍മയില്‍ ഞാന്‍ ഇടയ്ക്ക് കളിയായി വിളിക്കുമായിരുന്നു..’കൊടുമുടി വേണു!!’ അത്രയും ഉയരത്തിലായിരുന്നു എന്നും അദ്ദേഹം. അഭിനയത്തിലും ജീവിതത്തിലും. പലതും പഠിപ്പിച്ച, തണലും തണുപ്പും തന്ന ഒരു പര്‍വതം. മനസുകൊണ്ട് എപ്പോഴും പ്രണമിക്കുമായിരുന്നു ആ ഔന്നത്യത്തെ. മരണമില്ലാത്ത ഓര്‍മയായി മനസിലുണ്ടാകും എന്നും….വേദനയോടെ വിട!
