Nathalie Emmanuel Instagram – I’ve pretty much spent the whole of today, so far, feeling all the things and crying a lot because I am just so grateful. Tomorrow I walk onto a movie set as a leading lady for the first time… I’ve spent so many years just keeping my head down, grinding and putting the work in, that this morning I looked up for a moment and realised where I was. And how far I’ve come… And what that means for someone like me. I think I was just in the throws of the prep for this movie that I hadn’t actually allowed myself to sit with it. And it kinda hit me like a truck and I am rather weepy 😅 I think the trigger was yesterday, some dude tried to block me from entering the building of my accommodation and was trying to check whether I was actually staying here 😒👀🙄🤨🧐… I wonder if he stops everyone and checks if they live there…. 🤔 and it just was really symbolic of a lifetime of having your presence in any space questioned…. “are you supposed to here?” Well… whether or not one thinks I should or shouldn’t…. I fucking am here.
