Nikita Dutta Instagram – Year 2015, my first show was being launched at an award show. You were the main host and were to introduce my co star and me. We were called earlier on the main day to rehearse with you. I remember being asked how I was feeling about sharing the stage with “shah rukh Khan”! While we stood waiting in front of the stage watching you rehearse, I was quite blank in my head! You called us over to the stage and said, “I apologise to make you guys wait, give me sometime, we shall rehearse in my vanity”. A while later we were called to your van. There was an army of people sitting and going over the show’s script with you. You got us seated inside, and we began rehearsing our part with you. You beautifully added your quirks, made us comfortable and assured how you would handle it even if we got really nervous and didn’t know what to do. Those 30 minutes were quite mesmerising to be sitting in your van at that moment and having a conversation with you. Before leaving we managed to get a picture with you which was already the highlight of our evening. Then came showtime! By now a lot of nervousness had kicked in. While we were waiting backstage on one side, a crew member hurriedly came and called us to the other side saying you wanted to see us. We hopped and jumped through an uneven backstage to come there and you asked if we wanted another quick rehearsal. By now I was a lot in awe of watching your process of preparation. This quick rehearsal did bring our nervousness down by a decent percentage! On stage you conducted our part so beautifully to cover up for our excited and shivering nerves! It was a huge happy relief as we got done and everything went great! Though this didn’t end here. While the show wrapped up and I was waiting outside the red carpet for a channel incharge, you were exiting the place with your security and entourage. You took a detour, walked towards me and said, “I wish you all the best Nikita. I hope your show does wonders.” And after this as you walked away, I knew I was an admirer for life. .
