Technically, its the 20th anniversary of #PoeticAmmo’s sophomore LP “The World Is Yours”. Personally, I liked this album for its visual appeal. Winning the AIM 2000 award for “Best Album Cover” as Creative Director was one of my past personal achievements that I still hold dear. And obviously, the artwork of Uncle Real was way ahead of its time. In a time when local #hiphop album art were “expected” to be the cliche bad ass urban cool looking photography template, I decided to follow our passion of all things pop culture ( before the term was invented) then and translated it visually as our album artwork. The result was ( most likely) the first #comicbook, #manga, #anime, #Scifi and #PopCulture inspired #Malaysian album cover back in the year 2000. Flash forward to the present, the term pop culture, anime, manga, sci fi, superheroes, etc are the staple and norm of most of your entertainment, besides being billion dollar industries.
