Danielle Vega Instagram – :: It’s the last week of October, which among other things is #NationalDomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth. Domestic violence refers to acts of violence – physical, sexual, emotional and psychological – that occur between people who have, or have had, an intimate relationship. It tends to involve an ongoing pattern of behavior aimed at controlling a partner through fear. Ceci couldn’t immediately see the signs – most times that’s the case for a lot of us – and she wasn’t able to get help until she sought help. It’s scary – embarrassing, humbling, etc. It takes time to build up the courage, but at the end of the day she had to consider herself as well as her daughter and realize there’s no excuse for violence or abuse.
