Gracie Gillam Instagram – So I finally finished Jamie Loftus’ (@jamiechristsuperstar) Lolita Podcast. If you haven’t listened yet, I highly recommend this brilliant piece of media. If you haven’t listened, and you’re like “why are we even still talking about this creepy book?!” I knowwww, but the Lolita complex is everywhere and shit? My personal history with the novel is that it was recommended to me by the man who groomed me as a teenager. Then I listened to Jeremy Fucking Irons read it TO me on audiobook 🙄🙄🙄🙄. So I get it if the topic isn’t for you. But Jamie deals with the subject matter with such empathy and with necessary trigger warnings, and I felt really healed by her work. So anyways, I recommend this pod to anyone who cares about art criticism, societal criticism, or just dismantling rape culture. Goodbye.
