Emilia Lopez , 4/15/1921…yes you read that right.. this queen is 100 YEARS OLD TODAY!!
For those that tuned into @bigskyabc tonight, you might have seen my character Tonya, running for her life.. and if you know me, Jamie, you would know that running, is something I cannot do. Well, the incredible people at this show, especially our magical director @tasha4realsmith , came up with this idea to rig me to a mule, have a camera mounted in front (with an incredible operator) and have it drive, and me get to pretend I’m running from the talented and oh so menacing @onanthebarbarian. How awesome is this !? My disability, or limitation, never phased anyone, and in turn I was given the opportunity to play my role to its fullest. I am so grateful for this job and the people I get to perform aside each week, but even more, to this crew who have made me feel SO safe and supported, which has allowed me to do my best job. Here’s To more inclusivity, accessibility, and opportunity.✌🏻
