Linda Zervakis Instagram – Posted @withregram • @hanadisgarage Inspired by a jacket with African patterns I got from an artist in Paris, I set out to make my own art jacket. I wanted it to be made locally and be involved in the production process as much as possible, so I looked for the right people to work with. When I met Amira and her colleagues from Stitch By Stitch in Frankfurt, the course was set. Now here it is, my first art jacket, limited to 10 numbered pieces. There is a hidden character in each jacket and I hand drew the washing instructions. The jacket comes in a screen printed box made out of hemp and is fully recyclable. What a fun project. And Even more fun because I got to meet a bunch of real cool ladies and their stories:
Amira from @stitchbystitch.de who shared the story of her journey from northern Syria to Germany and the struggle she went through to get to were she is right now.
Claudia from @stitchbystitch.de and the story of creating such great sewing shop and a safe work environment for women who are seeking a better future in their new home in Germany.
And thanks to Michalis @michpant I got to meet @lindazervakis, a great woman who inspired the hell out of me. What an awesome human being. She was so busy with her new podcast Gute Deutsche @spotify and still she found the time to support me and my project. And I am more than thankful for that.
This project has already payed off for me by meeting all these amazing, strong women.
