Maya Sundarakrishnan Instagram – Mizhavu is a big copper drum played as an accompanying percussion instrument in Koodiyattam and Koothu . I was in paravasanilai ( intoxicated state ) as I learnt to play this instrument . At one point I did not even bother or realise that my fingers got swollen and turned blue. Playing Mizhavu 9 beats with 8 beats inserted and ending with a 4beat and a transition 5 beat . Drumming with the charming @keerthipandian at @adishaktitheatre .
