The day my mom passed she went in the ambulance while my dad drove Ben and I racing behind, and I can’t shake the image of her face pressed against the back doors of the ambulance, banging on the glass when my mom stopped breathing. I forget sometimes to think about how painful it is to lose a child. She nods furiously when I say please give mum a hug and move her oxygen mask to wipe her tears. Love you po, gam xia le
