Between January and August of this year, more than 14,535 American horses, most of them domestic along with an unknown number that once roamed freely on our public lands, were shipped
to their deaths in Mexico and Canada. It’s time to shut down the slaughter pipeline!

Please contact your representative and senators and urge them to cosponsor the SAFE Act (H.R. 3355 / S. 2732), which would ban horse slaughter in the United States and the export of American horses for
 slaughter.

TAKE ACTION
—Call your representative and senators at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to support a ban on horse slaughter
—To send a letter to your members of Congress, see “7 Ways to Help America’s Horses” on our homepage,
http://returntofreedom.org.
