Something horrible is happening at Auroville. Please share. Let’s help these people!!!! I havent been able to sleep seeing the violence at Auroville, my favourite place in india. You’ve seen my videos of Auroville- the way the poeple live within the trees and forests- in the thick of nature! There is nowhere in India or the world like this special place. What’s most special about Auroville are the trees, the forests that I feel are sacred and blessed and this tranquil model city is being cut down to build roads!! The crown project – The way that it is being done is so awful- so much violence against the people who are protesting. Not all aurvillians are against the crown project- some are just against the way it is being done. Women are being beaten, bulldozers are cutting down trees while the people protest and chant. Some aurovillans say they are not against the project, they are against the violence. And some say – they don’t want roads – they want their forests!! Killing tress is also Murder!!!! “The governing board secretary is implementing the master plan crown road without any care for trees or houses. She has the support of some aurovilians that are mafia and have called Gundas on us. But now we know this people’s true intentions.’ “We are all ok, no injured. Just hurt in the spirit a little” a note from one of my friend from Auroville Another friend wrote, “Don’t worry , the old polarity between development and organic growth and freedom….. Some pressure from government, some internal manipulation, the anarchists opposing the strategist…..finally all necessary for essential progress and integration?” Some are against and some are for it – Another friend wrote – ” How do you think Auroville will accommodate more people? By not cutting any trees?” All this is progress??? Or is this politics?? Should we cut trees for development??
