It has been 5 years since my father passed away. I know this time of year is coming without looking at a calendar because the memory of those life changing days come back vividly and I can feel the grief physically. Many people told me at the time that as years pass, the pain will dull. In my experience, the time has helped but not in the way it was explained to me- I have just gotten better living with it.
