Ten years ago my friend Nara and I put on our white clothes and went to see our favorite band play their “last show ever.” My white suit that I wore, a left-over from high school graduation, then went into retirement in a dry cleaners bag in the back of my closet. Earlier this month, after ten years, we had another chance to wear white and dance ourselves clean. (And the suit still kinda fit!) As important as the long goodbye was to me at the time, I have to say that this reunion was even more meaningful to me. Considering that in the past ten years since I wore this suit, I “…spent the first five years trying to get with the plan and the next five years trying to be with [my] friends again…”. Certain things rang truer than ever, especially as I missed my friends who couldn’t make it, and all of those dear to me who live a remarkable physical distance from me. But I think most of all I was moved to consider that although we may never know when the last time will be. The mantra “this could be the last time” in its uncertain way is wonderful principle to keep ingrained in all of our jovial gatherings. And so thank you @lcdsoundsystem for one more last time. See you for another last time in 10 years.

Walking across Brooklyn with a big mirror until I get on How To With John Wilson.
@febreze let me be your boy. I love a good sniff and I’m ready for new career as Febreze boy.
Thank you @drewscheid for Arthur’s non-denominational winter solstice gift. He loves it.

Last week I did my first radio show of the New Year. After a couple weeks of omicron anxiety and isolation, it was very nice to get in the booth and share an stretch of peaceful and beautiful tunes as the sun set over The Lot. It was a very eclectic show, in addition to my usual Fourth World/New Age treats, I also played some rock music for the first time on Radio Taiso. After being floored by the Peter Jackson documentary, I felt like sharing a couple of the recently released Glyn John’s mixes of The Beatles let it be sessions, amongst some other guitar based things I’ve been wanting to share. If you didn’t get a chance to join me and fuchiko live, the recording is up on SoundCloud now. I hope that these chunes will assist in your winter introspection and isolation, as they have in mine. Happy New Year from Me, Fuchiko, Sadie, and Ytiet❤️🙅🏼♂️🙆🏼♂️💁🏼♂️❤️

I’m playing a show this coming Tuesday with @powpowfamilyband, opening for Air Waves and Marina Allen at @knittingfactorybk. It’s been almost two years since I sang songs for folks in person. I’d love for you to come join us for a special break-fast as the four of us from the family who ran baths during the lockdown are playing some stripped down, ethereal versions of old favorites and unreleased songs we have been finishing recording thru the hiatus. Link in my bio. Blessings of Tringus upon you.
