Tarun Lak Instagram – Last post on Luca. This was a sequence called Rooftop, Luca dreaming about what the moon and stars are and what the human town is like. I had asked to work on these shots because it seemed so endearing, and I wanted to try and animate a quieter scene than I typically do. These quieter scenes were what I loved about Pixar and Ghibli movies, so I’m glad I was trusted with it. It was tricky for me to balance the graphic style of posing and animation we were chasing with the sincerity of acting it needed, but with the help of the rest of the team I think it came together alright. Shout-out to the lovely work by the other departments too! Working on this movie is one of my favorite experiences in my career so far. There’s more that I’d animated on Luca but I think this is a nice scene to end it with.
