Kelen Coleman Instagram – I want to show you a special woman. My bubby(Yiddish for grandma). Yesterday we laid Shirley Easter Yentis Goldberg Bookspan to rest. She passed away on Sunday but will never leave our hearts & minds. There aren’t enough pictures or words to honor her justly but we tried our best yesterday. Even with my being very far away, thanks to technology(that bubby and i often used to talk…pretty cool for a bubby right?!) I was able to “be with” my family for her. She was a “grandma” who was so beautiful, hip, artsy, sparkly, smart, funny, and STRONG. Forward thinking & even ground breaking. She had the 1st integrated theatre co in Philadelphia for gosh sake! 1 thing among MANY cool attributes and aspects. An inspiring & impressive lady. She accomplished so much (in her almost 92 years of life) & I wish I could tell her again how proud of her I am & how important she is & will always be to me. I love her very much. She’s one of the reasons I exist & that I am who I am. I’m sad she’s gone but I’m SO happy she lived. And now I live and celebrate here, to honor her. Thank you bubby.
