Kellie Martin Instagram – Today is my little sister’s birthday. Heather would be 43. We lost her 23 years ago to an autoimmune disease called lupus. She was misdiagnosed repeatedly which led to needless suffering and a bad outcome. I don’t want anyone to go through that. To honor her life, my husband and I have partnered with the Yale School of Medicine to create the Heather Martin Education Fund in Rheumatology. The fund supports research experiences for students, fellows, and residents in rheumatology at YSM. They are doing exciting work that will make a huge difference to patients.
