— a few weeks ago I had the honour of hosting the screening and Q&A at @campicturehouse for this remarkable documentary film “THE SIX” , reconstructing the story of the six Chinese survivors of the Titanic.
“Surviving the Titanic wasn’t the greatest obstacle they had to overcome in their lives” —and yet though the famous scene of the 1998 film by James Cameron with Rose on the door is based on the survival story of one of these Chinese men, the world knew almost nothing about any of their life stories — a racist legacy and century-old injustice which this film sets out to correct.
Would really recommend you watch it!!
