What a special day meeting such strong and resilient young people coping with the pandemic whilst navigating cancer at such an important time in their lives.
Alongside my mother and sister, I went to talk to Abigail, Mariam, Egon and Aimee and their families about being diagnosed with cancer during the pandemic and overcoming their diagnoses with the help of the remarkable people at the @teenage_cancer which I am so proud to be Honorary Patron of.
Support from Teenage Cancer Trust is having someone in your corner at the toughest time. The physical and emotional impact of being diagnosed with cancer – whilst watching your peers experience normal teenage milestones – can be a hugely traumatic experience. Teenage Cancer Trust is unique in being the only charity in the country to provide specialist care and support to these young people when they need it most. It’s an extended family that I’m so very proud to be a part of.
I’m honoured to support TCT and young people who show such courage in dark times. Thank you for sharing your stories with us. xx

This morning I visited the Askew Ward at Hammersmith and Fulham Hospital’s Mental Health Unit to see the work of @_hospitalrooms charity in practice.
@_hospitalrooms work closely with ward staff and hospital employees to bring art into spaces like the Askew Ward, to provide some much-needed light in a dark moment.
The charity works with artists who visit hospital wards to paint artworks on the walls, meet the service users and ultimately leave behind something positive for those struggling with mental health issues.
It was inspiring to meet everyone involved today. You can find out more about the amazing work of @_hospitalrooms on their page.

The phenomenal artist Jenny Holzer created ‘HURT EARTH’ that began its journey at Tate Modern, before moving to Edinburgh Castle, the Met Tower and the SEC Armadillo in the centre of the blue zone at COP26.
Holzer’s light projections have illuminated these landmarks with a collection of inspiring and expert testimonies from more than 40 activists, leaders and many others addressing the climate crisis, featuring Sir David Attenborough and Greta Thunberg.
