As I grow older, I can see more and more how my father tries to look like me, and I can’t blame him.
To say I’m a fan of Pete Davidson is an understatement. His work is always relaxed, natural, and understated. I’m so pleased he’s come back to The Rookie to play Nolan’s brother again. It’s a treat to work with this guy, and a bigger treat to call him a friend. If you didn’t see the episode last night, it’s not too late to stream it on Hulu!
If you ever visit the WB lot, you may get a chance to see the Friends couch. My review? Heavy on the couch, light on the friends.
I was 17 years old when I saw the first trailer for #FreeGuy, and now that it’s finally here, I can say it was worth the wait. With all of @vancityreynolds ‘ action hero roles, one could be forgiven for forgetting the very smart and subtle character work that he’s capable of. Guy has fresh eyes. The amount of calculation, evaluation, and understanding that goes into how a character “discovers” what we all take for granted cannot be understated. I experienced real joy watching this film, and you don’t have to be a video game nerd to appreciate it. Yes, the spectacle of special effects is tremendous, but see it for the work, the expressions on Guy’s face, the brilliant confusion he endures in comprehending the world in which he lives, and the loving heart that beats within him. Also, he falls down a lot, and I love that stuff.
Watching these incredible artists create and then destroy (and then clean up) these incredible sets for #therookie never fail to impress me. Not only do they tell amazing stories and entertain millions, but they keep us all safe and sound at the same time. My thanks goes out to all the hard and conscientious work they do for us, and for you.
