Jessica Lu Instagram – One year ago today we took Mama Lu to the ER. We found her in her apartment, and I thought she had had a stroke. I don’t remember why we went to her apartment at all. Maybe gut feeling? All I remember is the doctor telling us a few days after her emergency brain surgery that if we hadn’t taken her to the ER that day she would have just … died? I’m still traumatized. That was one year ago. I was about 6 months pregnant. We had no idea about the cancer. Did you know that it was also exactly one month after Lucky suddenly died at the animal ER? … The silver linings: she made it out of the brain surgery. She made it out of the hospital. She moved in with us. Radiation went great. She started losing her hair in clumps so I helped her shave it on Easter and she 👏🏼 looks 👏🏼 fly 👏🏼 as 👏🏼 hell. I got to have my mom here with me as I solo-parented Evy for 7 months. She’s doing great right now. Like, so so great. But I’m still so traumatized. C and I were supposed to go on our mini- babymoon and by chance we went to my moms apartment. This is one of my favorite videos. Evy and LaoLao are best friends. It’s 5 minutes long and I watch it everyday. I put a glasses filter on her though so she won’t yell at me. lol She doesn’t need it, she’s so beautiful. Anyway. Time is so slow and so fast and I can only watch or read things that are funny or light or easy because a lot of things are a lot. Anyway, hope all of you out there are doing well. 💛
