Posted @withregram • @chimaerafilms The Chimaera Project is happy to announce the launch of #SupportHer, a new mentorship program to empower women and non-binary filmmakers from a variety of disciplines. Created by one of our newest ambassadors, @CaseyMcKinnon, the first cycle of mentorships will begin remotely this fall with plans to expand and develop in-person mentorships in future cycles.

SUPPORT.HER launches with six inaugural mentors including writer @MoTancharoen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), composer @bearmccreary (Outlander), director @IAmAOstrander (Supergirl), writer @marcbernardin (Star Trek: Picard), Passionflix founder and director @ToscaMusk (Gabriel’s Inferno), and visual effects lead compositor Joe Censoplano (Eternals).

Each mentor will provide at least one session of career consultation based on their experience in the industry, with some mentors offering as many as three sessions. Marc Bernardin is offering his mentorship opportunity specifically to women of color while Maurissa Tancharoen’s mentorship targets filmmakers from AAPI and POC communities. All candidates submitting applications in the field of directing will receive an invitation to attend an exclusive visual directing workshop with Alexis Ostrander.

We are so excited to expand these mentorships as it embodies so much of what The Chimaera Project is all about. Applications are now open at chimaeraproject.org/supporther. The deadline for submission is July 31, 2021.
