As many as 35 people in #Noida were forced to spend three days in the #COVID-19 ward of a hospital after their virus reports were botched up by private labs. The #Noida administration has sent a notice to the private labs. One lab has been charged in an #FIR filed by police. Noida Health Department investigations have revealed that these 35 people had consulted private doctors on having mild fever, cough and cold, and were asked to undergo #coronavirus tests. They went to private labs to get the tests done. All 35 of them tested #positive and were consequently sent to government isolation facilities. However, health officials were alarmed when their samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology, and all 35 tested #negative. The people have been discharged but are under watch. There were lapses in sample collection by the private lab employees, investigation revealed, as they allegedly did not maintain the samples in optimum temperature, leading to inaccurate results. #tli #thelogicalindian
