I was looking for unique things to do in Goa and came across this Russian man who practices Shibari – the art of Japanese Bondage.
I decided to go to his workshop in Morjim to learn more about it.
I was extremely stiff and nervous at first. He kept asking me to relax.
I asked him 10000 questions which he couldn’t reply to because of our language communication gap.
One thing he said when I asked if he went to Japan to learn this . He said “japan came to me”.
When I asked him the price he said I do this for Annanas, I do it for bananas, I do it for 1000 rupees, I do it for 30,000 rupees.
He told me I was the first Indian woman he tied up. He said, “I tied Israeli, I tied Russian, I tied Italian, you are first Indian.”
It was definitely a lesson in letting go. Also I really felt empowered that my body could go through all that :))
