Andrew Gillum Instagram – Today we’re spotlighting Toledo School Board Member @sheena_for_the_future for our #womenshistorymonth series. Sheena is an at-large member of the Toledo Public Schools Board of Education in Ohio. Sheena moved to Toledo from Flint, Michigan about 10 years ago and made Toledo a home for herself, and her three children. Sheena quickly became involved in the community, she is a board member for Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE), a Coordinator For The Equality Toledo Food Pantry, and a Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization (BRAVO) trainer. Sheena is also a member of @nbjconthemove Good Trouble Network Steering Committee. A true leader through and through!
Andrew Gillum Instagram – This #womenhistorymonth I want to shout out some of the brilliant women who you might not have heard of YET, but are making lasting impacts on their communities and this country. Today, I’d like to introduce you to Santa Clara County Open Space Authority Board member @shayfrancoclausen

Shay hails from the Bay area and has been a tireless advocate for marginalized communities and for adding more women into politics. Additionally, she is Co-Chairing a new project by the @nbjconthemove called the Good Trouble Network, which aims to form a network of Black Queer elected officials around the country committed to liberation and freedom for all.

She’s a force of nature (the environmentally friendly kind 😁)
