Liz Trinnear Instagram – February 28th is Rare Disease day. . 1 in 12 Canadians (2/3 of them children) are affected by some form of rare disease. There are over 7000 known rare diseases and dozens more being discovered each year. I am the 1 in 12 … I’m affected daily by a rare skin disorder called Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex (EBS) 🦋 (also known as the butterfly disease because our skin is as fragile as butterflies wings). Some days are better than others and sometimes I even forget. I consider myself one of the fortunate ones to have such a mild case of the disease. Many worldwide have it much worse than I do 🦋 I post this for awareness. I’ve always said living with EB reminds me daily to never take health for granted, to celebrate life’s little wins, and to walk through this world with a kinder eye. Lead with empathy.
