Sonali Bendre Instagram – The next book on SBC is something I’ve been wanting to read for a while now. It’s Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty, which is an award-winning biography written by journalist @praddenkeefe, who chronicles three generations of the Sackler family, the family behind the production of OxyContin, a painkiller which heavily contributed to the opioid epidemic. This book is especially intriguing for me because when I was going through my chemotherapy, I was given OxyContin for the pain, and I was so scared that I might get addicted to it. I had even told Goldie that I didn’t want to take it, but he said let’s first deal with this, then we’ll figure the next steps.  So yes, I am super eager to dive into this book, and I look forward to seeing you at the #SBCBookDiscussion!
