Story time: When David reached out to me to sit for this portrait, we had just opened @cursedchildus on Broadway. I had just gotten over a bad case of food poisoning. My understudy, @likal0v3, held it down on stage for me the last few previews (she’s a real one) and I was able to perform at opening, one of the proudest nights of my life. #blackgirlmagic So when @davidmackkabuki asked me to get on Zoom so he could sketch some ideas, I went in! Did my make up, put on a few wigs and posed for my life! I was so happy, grateful and honored. Years later, I still am. These drawings always take me right back to that time 🥰🥰
